In communities in Papua New Guinea, women are often denied the chance to have a voice. Your gift can empower mothers to speak out about their rights.
Theodora wanted to change the rules in her community where men talk and women sit quietly and listen. She knew that when women are given leadership roles within their community, they can bring about change that benefits everyone – such as a reduction in alcoholism and domestic violence.
She started conversations between her fellow Mothers’ Union members and their husbands to address the imbalance in their marriages. Theodora also helped women gain their independence by setting up their own businesses.
You can help give women a voice and empower them to speak out about inequality.
